“Interim Bridge”
“Interim Bridge”
Though modest in scale, “Interim Bridge” was a liberating work for The Expressionist to create. Painted in 2014, its arcs of teal, violet, and indigo move with raw spontaneity, free of constraint or hesitation. At the core of Abstract Expressionism lies this very essence—painting as release, creativity unbound, and color as emotion itself.
The title speaks to resilience and survival, marking the painting as more than an abstract study—it is a reflection of life’s crossings.
As Expressionist Shean Davis writes:
“In the interim of calamity and sadness we will somehow find our bridge—whether it be art, music, or mountain climbing—to cross over and find solace and survive.”
