“Sunflower” was created in joy. The need to get a bright color on the canvas was The Expressionists’ honest start to “Sunflower”. Its petal-like shape gently consumes the canvas and directs their energy to the three lines that travel about the canvas.

One of The Expressionists’ favorite sayings is: “Just put the paint on the canvas.” Everything else will work itself out. Sometimes as artists/expressionist get caught up in to semantics and we over prepare instead of simply getting the paint on the canvas.
